THE FIRST ONLY WOMEN LED CONSTRUCTION COMPANY IN THE UNITED STATES
HOW WE WERE BORN
One of the first documented women in construction was Emily Warren Roebling who stepped in as the "first female field engineer" on the Brooklyn Bridge, but it was because her husband had gotten sick, and she had to fill in and stay until the end. The Brooklyn Bridge in New York opened on May 24, 1883, and history says that Emily was the first to cross it.
Construction is one of the most notoriously male-dominated professions: Of the 10 million people employed in the industry, only 9% of construction workers are women. This figure corresponds mainly to women in administrative and clerical positions in construction since the number of women actively working on construction sites is much lower.

Women leaders play a crucial role in inspiring a new generation of women construction leader through their presence, mentorship and accomplishments. We will proof to girls, that the construction industry is not an "only boys club".
WOMEN POWER
We came to this country with 25 years of prior experience, including multi-billion dollar projects, and I knew that in this new land, I had a purpose, and that purpose was to uplift women. I think that when we women come together, magical things happen.
The construction industry is pushed and pulled in multiple challenging directions; however, we can see how the global pandemic has brought the sector together towards an immediate goal of bringing the world economy back to life.
In addition to on-site construction jobs, women can also consider a variety of industry-related positions such as construction manager, safety manager, inspector, etc.

WHO WE ARE
With the growth of the industry, the role of women has become crucial for the survival of building companies. Not only from a labor aspect, but also in leadership roles. Women in managerial roles promote the retention and professional advancement of workers, and ensures better benefits for its employees. We are in extraordinary times to rewrite and restructure the industry to ensure that it not only survives once again when we recover from the pandemic but thrives in a new ecological, high-racial, and gendered world.
We have an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the world, and that´s what inspires us to make WOPCO BUILDERS a household name in the construction industry in Texas

At the same time, we will help improve local communities by creating economic growth. Data suggests that women are more efficient and effective managers that in term translates into a cost reduction and increase profitability.
